Monaco - Menton - La Turbie
Leaving from Nice
This is the a very scenic coast line tour. You cruise along the azure blue coastline from Nice and pass by Villefranche-sur-Mer, Beaulieu-sur-Mer, Eze-sur-Mer and follow the coast road through the vibrant streets of Monaco/Monte-Carlo.
If we are lucky, we will spot one of the pro-cyclists living there. Although the chances for seeing those guyes are likely higher on the mountain roads on their bikes!
We cross Monaco to continue to Menton - the last French town before Italy. This first stretch of the tour is relatively flat with rolling hills and easy for an experienced road biker. However traffic can be a little hectic, so be awake!
From Menton we start climbing towards La Turbie, which is above Monaco. The climb is about 15 kilometers with 3-5 % gradients.
In either Menton or La Turbie, we can stop for a coffee break - you choose if you want border-sea-front atmosphere in Menton or saving the break to the top of the hill in La Turbie village.
From La Turbie there is a long and nice descent back to Nice. We go via the middle corniche, which will bring us close by the stunning medieval Eze Village. Enjoy the view over Cap Ferrat and the bays into Nice.
